This SOP describes the process of machining Section A from a one-inch y-block. This SOP references the ASTM A536 - 84 "Standard Specification for Ductile Iron Castings".

=Safety Concerns=
* Ensure fingers and debris are clear from blade
* Ensure sample is secure in clamps to prevent movement
* Have necessary PPE safety glasses, green jacket, and steel-toed boots
* Report any problems to [https://www.mtu.edu/materials/department/staff/ Russ Stein]

#Inspect blade and equipment before hand for any damage
#Measure from the bottom of the y-block 1 1/8 inch
#Position y-block horizontally and align blade to the measured position
#Secure y-block with clamps
#Position water hoses to aim at the y-block to give proper lubrication
#Turn on hacksaw
#Machine will automatic shut off when finished
Pay attention, hit the kill switch if the machine doesn't stop to prevent the blade going into the bed
