Safety Concerns
- Ensure fingers and debris are clear from blade
- Ensure sample is secure in clamps to prevent movement
- Have necessary PPE safety glasses, green jacket, and steel-toed boots
- Report any problems to Russ Stein
SSFDI Hacksaw Procedure
- Inspect blade and equipment before hand for any damage
- Measure from the bottom of the y-block 1 1/8 inch
- Position y-block horizontally and align blade to the measured position
- Secure y-block with clamps
- Position water hoses to aim at the y-block to give proper lubrication
- Turn on hacksaw
- Machine will automatic shut off when finished
Pay attention, hit the kill switch if the machine doesn't stop to prevent the blade going into the bed
