- Pot is hot, use handle.
Making the Polymer
- Put milk in an appropriately sized pot.
- Heat over medium-high heat until milk begins to steam.
- Take pot off the heat.
- add vinegar or lemon juice while gently stirring the milk.
- Once the mixture starts to curd, stir for an additional minute.
- Pour the curds into a strainer.
- Let sit for five minutes.
- Compact the curds into a clump.
- Place in a large bowl.
- Fill the bowl with vinegar until the clump is submerged.
- Let sit for one hour.
- This is to make the final surface smoother.
- Pour the clump back into the strainer.
- Let sit for an additional five minutes.
- Use paper towel to squish and absorb as much liquid out of the clump as possible.
- Compact into a mold.
- Let sit in the mold until hard and dry.
Standard Recipe
- 1 cup of milk
- 4 teaspoons of vinegar or lemon juice
- This is enough to fill four ice cube pockets
- This takes about a week to dry after molded.
