• Wear the appropriate PPE when handling samples.

Procedure

1. Turn on machine.
2. Calibrate the instrument. This must be done whenever the instrument is started.
3. Load the sample under the laser. Orient the sample under the laser so an area of interest can be analyzed.
4. Adjust the instrument parameters (laser filter, exposure time, spectrometer offset, wavenumber range).
5. Set acquisition time and accumulated values to desired numbers.
6. Save data.
7. Remove sample and turn off laser and computer.
